2023 Mustang Mach-E colors

For the 2023 model year, the Ford Mustang Mach-E all-electric SUV isn’t all new, but it does have some significant changes — including a price hike.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E pricing

The big change for the 2023 model year will likely be the price for most consumers. With more and more electric vehicles hitting the market, the supply of raw materials for batteries is dwindling and spiking prices.

Starting with the base Select trim, the price climbs $3,200. The California Route 1 trim price jumps up $11,000, the Premium is up $6,075, and the GT is up $8,100, year-over-year. That’s not to mention the destination charge, which also increased by $200, up to $1,300.

Pricing did stay the same for the GT Performance Package at $6,000, and AWD still adds $2,700 to the Select Premium trims.

Starting pricing is as follows:

  • Select: $48,195
  • Premium: $56,275
  • California Route 1: $64,875
  • GT: $71,195

Consumers still waiting for a 2022 model will get an offer to convert to a 2023 model, Ford Motor Co. said in a press release with the 2023 changes.

More and less range for 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E

While more range for an EV will get a lot of attention, the news isn’t as OMG as you would believe.

For the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E, the range improves 13 miles to 290 miles of range for the Premium trim with the extended-range 91-kWh battery pack. This is up from the 2022 EPA-rated 277 miles of range.

Also, the California Route 1 trim, available only in extended range form loses the RWD option. It now only comes in AWD, and range drops from 314 miles to 312 miles.

Small design tweaks

Other changes for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E are visual.

There is a new Nite Pony Package for the Premium trim with extended range battery and GT Performance Edition. This $800 package includes gloss-black 19-inch wheels, black front and rear accents and door cladding. On the GT versions, there are 20-inch, high-gloss black wheels and a black GT badge.

Also, the GT and GT Performance Edition get a standard panoramic glass roof replacing the black painted roof for the 2022 model.

There are two new paint colors: Carbonized Gray Metallic and Vapor Blue Metallic.

The bottom line

Small changes to packaging and new exterior colors are pretty standard for a new model year, however, the significant price hikes are pretty unusual. With all the confusion over the new EV tax credit and the limited supply, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is likely going to have a hard time hitting sales goals until things get get back to “normal.”
