When we talk about reset, there are two types – soft and hard. Soft reset restarts your Mi Band without pairing it. On the other hand, a hard reset or factory reset will unpair the device.

How to Restart Mi Band 4

To reboot or reboot Mi Band 4, follow these steps:

Stage 1: Tap the tape once to illuminate the screen.

Step 2: Swipe up on the band until you see the More option. Tap on it.

Stage 3: Again, swipe up until you see Settings. Tap on it. Within Settings, tap on Restart. Confirm by tapping the tick button. Your Mi Band 4 will reboot quickly.

How to Restart Mi Band 3

Currently there is no way to manually restart Mi Band 3. You can only reset it to factory settings. However, you can let the Mi Band 3 drain itself to turn it off. Charging will restart the band. If your grub has a lot of battery, it’s not a great way to reboot as it will take many days. But if it is necessary to restart the grub, this is your option.

Factory Reset Mi Band 3 and 4

There are two ways to do this. You can do it from the group or using the Mi Fit app. The first one can be used to reset Mi Band without phone and app. Here are the steps for both.

note: You will need to pair the device again after the reset. When you use the factory reset option, all the customizations you have made on Mi Band will be reset.

Factory Reset Mi Band 4 from Band

To do this, tap the tape once. Then swipe up to go to More. Tap on it. Swipe up again until you reach Settings. Tap on it. In Settings, swipe up until you see Factory Reset. Tap on it. A confirmation message will appear. Tap the checkmark icon to confirm. Your band will reset in 2 seconds.

Factory Reset Mi Band 3 Using Band

To do this, light the tape. Swipe up to go to More. Swipe left until you see Factory reset. Press and hold the button on your band to reset. Press again to confirm when prompted.

As soon as the reset is successful, you will see Pair device first. You may need to unpair if you want to connect to the same phone. The next section deals with unmatching the group.

Unpair Mi Band 3 and 4 from Mi Fit App

To disconnect Mi Band 3 and 4 from the phone, open the Mi Fit app and tap on the Profile tab at the bottom. Tap your group.

What Happens When You Factory Reset and Unpair Your Band?

Resetting the tape to factory settings will remove any customizations made from the tape. However, if you have made any changes from the app, they will remain.

It won’t reset when it comes to data like steps, sleep tracker and more. If you sign in with the same account used to sync data, the account will be restored as soon as you sign in again. However, only the data that was synced before the reset is restored.

1. Reboot Phone

Try restarting the phone you are trying to pair the band with.

2. Unpair from App

If you cannot pair the band after the reset and you only see Connecting option in the app, unpair the band from the Mi Fit app as shown above.

3. Charge Your Band

Your band must be sufficiently charged to match your band. So charge it first.

4. Forget Mi Band in Bluetooth Settings

To do this, open the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Unpair the device or forget the device there. Then pair it from the Mi Fit app.

5. Clear Cache and Data of Mi Fit App

You should also try clearing the cache and data of your Mi Fit app on Android. For this, open Settings on your Android phone and go to Apps. Find Mi Fit app under All apps. Tap on Storage. Next, tap on Clear cache and Clear storage/data. Restart your phone.

Open the Mi Fit app. You will need to login again. Next, match the group.

6. Update Mi Fit App
