Summary[]

Nagi, Hayate, Maria, Kayura, Hinagiku, Ayumu, Chiharu and the Hakuo Three Amiga go to stay at Ayumu's vacation home in the country side after some persuasion [mainly of Nagi and Kayura]. At first, Nagi believes it to be the perfect thing to do. But after they arrive at the place, she acts up because there are no video games or television there. As Hayate tries to get Nagi to admire the unique surroundings of the countryside, he suddenly sees a silver-haired girl standing outside the house saying something. He is then interrupted from his frozen state and looks back to see that she is gone. No one else seemed to notice her, making him intrigued.

In the night, Nagi woke to find someone to accompany her to the toilet, because of her fear of the dark. She calls Hayate to come with her. Not realizing her reason for calling, Hayate instead asks her to see the starry sky that can't be seen in the city. Then the silver-haired girl appears again. Hayate tells Nagi to wait and follows the girl to a place from his memories, an amusement park. Naturally, Nagi follows him only to end up being captured in the amusement park, along with the unaware Student Council Trio and Kayura. They try to escape only to realize that there is a force-field keeping them inside.

The next day, Hayate wakes up thinking it wasn't just a dream and runs out looking for his mistress. He then sees that his mistress is Maria, which he feels is odd, but accepts it nevertheless. The group, minus the Trio, Kayura and Nagi, go swimming at a nearby river. Maria starts doing chores to which Hayate finds unusual. Hayate then has an awakward moment with Hinagiku and asks her to come with him back to the house in order to try and recreate a moment with Nagi in order to get his real memories back, which causes Hinagiku to blush uncontrollably. Meanwhile in the amusement park, the Trio, Kayura and Nagi try and get a signal in order to contact the others but to no avail. After a failed attempt to recreate the experience, Hayate apologizes to Hinagiku and runs out, leaving her flustered and confused. He runs into the fields and encounters the silver-haired woman once more, where she gives Hayate a diamond to be sold so that Hayate can pay off his debt. Hinagiku gets angry and storms out of the house after being abandoned by Hayate and she very loudly calls Hayate an idiot, only to be greeted by Sakuya and Isumi who just arrived in the countryside.

Back in the amusement park, the gang try to get a signal by riding the Ferris Wheel. Meanwhile, Yukiji and Kaoru are off to hunt the diamond which has come into Hayate's possession. Hayate then returns to the house and is greeted by Maria, who continues to do chores. They started talking about how something wasn't right with the world in it's current state, Maria then cuts a watermelon in order to feel right. After seeing the sliced watermelon, Hayate's memory comes back.

While riding the ferris wheel, Nagi is greeted by the silver-haired woman who tries to convince her that Hayate will never come back to her because he is no longer in-debt, and during the discussion, the silver haired woman reveals herself as Hayate's grandmother. After getting a phone call from who she believes to be Hayate, only to be greeted by Klaus, she destroys her phone out of rage, thus destroying her only way of communication. She then cries and shatters the force-field keeping her inside the park, causing imbalance and the park starts destroying itself. Meanwhile, the park mascots start chasing Miki and Kayura while mechanical dinosaurs start chasing Risa and Izumi. Risa and Izumi are then saved by Isumi and Sakuya while Miki and Kayura are saved by Hinagiku, who has somehow regained her memory. Hayate then saves Nagi and returns the diamond back to his grandmother, stating that he wants to pay his debt off on his own. The group then wakes up in the middle of a field and see that the amusement park is in ruins.

They then attend a festival in the town. The group wonders who's wish will come true but Isumi states that her wish has already come true as Hayate and Nagi gaze off into the night sky filled with fireworks.

Adapted From[]

Volume 99

  • Special Chapter: Heaven is a Place on Earth 0 [Extended scene in +99 Edition Only]

Differences in the Manga[]

  • After the residents of the Violet Mansion and the Hakuo Three Amiga leave the train station, Hinagiku senses Suzune Ayasaki who appears and acknowledges Hayate's arrival to the countryside. This is omitted from the extended scene in +99 Edition for preventing the spoilers.

Versions of the Movie[]

Theatrical Edition[]

This edition was released in theatres on August 27, 2011. This version doesn't include the story about what happened before Nagi and Hayate came to the countryside. But this missing piece of story can be found in Volume 99 in chapter Heaven is a Place on Earth 0 that was handed out to those who attended the theatrical release of this edition.

This edition was later included in the limited edition of Volume 31 as a DVD. But the DVD version didn't include Volume 99, which means that the DVD version contains the incomplete story. This edition was also later included in Hayate The Combat Butler Blu-ray Box II, again, without Volume 99 included.

Trivia[]

  • The movie takes place towards the end of the summer holidays after Comiket. However at the time this movie came out, the manga was currently at the begining of the summer holidays, so there is a time gap over what happened in between.
  • When Chiharu says to Hayate that she and Nagi were really busy during the summer because of NatsuComi, Ruka can be seen sitting behind Nagi and Chiharu in the third flashback shot.
  • Ayumu Nishizawa can be seen wearing a maid uniform: This a reference to the fact that she lost the bet to Wataru when he said he would confess to Isumi earlier in the manga, her punishment would be to wear a maid uniform at his new shop.
  • When Hayate takes Nagi outside to look at the night sky, he says to her: "Sure, the night sky in Mykonos was pretty, but the sky in Japan isn't too shabby either, is it?". This a reference to when they and Maria went to Mykonos Island during Golden Week.
  • Hinagiku is seen fighting with Shirosakura, which she got during the Golden Week Arc.
  • The narrator never appears in this movie.
  • On the DVD cover of the Hayate no Gotoku! Heaven is a Place on Earth +99 edition, Nagi's shirt hints that the name of the theme park is Tadami Yuen. Also, in Ayumu's grandmother's house, a poster of it is seen in the background.[citation needed]
