U23 Việt Nam dưới thời huấn luyện viên Gong Oh-kyun đã thi đấu thăng hoa để giành quyền vào vòng tứ kết U23 châu Á 2022 với 5 điểm [1 thắng, 2 hòa].
Với kết quả này, U23 Việt Nam đã lập nên kỳ tích khi trở thành đội bóng đầu tiên của Đông Nam Á vào tứ kết U23 châu Á mà không thua trận nào ở vòng bảng.
Với những gì đã thể hiện, U23 Việt Nam được kỳ vọng sẽ tiếp tục thi đấu ấn tượng để vượt qua U23 Saudi Arabia tại vòng tứ kết.
Trong lịch sử các vòng chung kết U23 châu Á, Việt Nam từng giành ngôi á quân vào năm 2018 trong khi Saudi Arabia cũng đã hai lần về nhì vào các năm 2013 và 2020.

Theo lịch thi đấu, trận U23 Việt Nam gặp U23 Saudi Arabia sẽ diễn ra vào lúc 23 giờ tối 12/6 và được trực tiếp trên VTV6 và ứng dụng VTVGo. Đây cũng là trận đấu cuối cùng ở vòng tứ kết.
Theo nhánh đấu, nếu giành quyền đi tiếp, đối thủ của U23 Việt Nam sẽ là đội thắng ở cặp tứ kết giữa U23 Australia và U23 Turkmenistan [20 giờ tối 11/6].
Hai cặp tứ kết còn lại hứa hẹn sẽ rất hấp dẫn và kịch tính bởi cả 4 đội bóng đều đã từng vô địch tại U23 châu Á.
U23 Uzbekistan [vô địch 2018] sẽ đối đầu U23 Iraq [2013] - diễn ra vào lúc 23 giờ tối 11/6. Trong khi đó, U23 Hàn Quốc [2022] gặp U23 Nhật Bản [2016] - diễn ra vào lúc 20 giờ tối 12/6.
