  Some EPs are sold on disc in some countries; most add-ons for the game are download only. It doesn't matter for this what form you buy the base game in.

  If you buy the dvd version of the game, the person that you are buying the game for has the option of either downloading the game digitally or installing it from the dvd.

  You can't buy dvd versions of game packs and stuff packs. You need to buy digital versions of them . You can buy cd versions of EPs,

• Just to clarify what is being said... yes, if you buy them the disc, they can still buy DLC (game packs, stuff packs, and expansion packs), even though those are offered as DLC (not disc's, some are offered as discs - EPs - but you buying the disc base game doesn't stop them from buying any future content in any form).

  Yep, I've already got a mixture. For some reason Get Together shipped as a disc over here (New Zealand) everything else I have (which is actually everything else!) is a digital download through Origin.

  It doesn't matter what version you have, you are able to get DLC on both, and the DLC is all downloadable, no matter what version of the game you have.

• Probably different retailers, if I were you I'd look on Amazon, but otherwise the two don't have a difference except one you will get as a DVD and one will just be a code or if you purchase through Origin it will just unlock it I guess ?

• Check to see if one is the regular and one is the Deluxe version. But even still, there shouldn't be that much of a price difference if it is through the same provider.

Not so now, Origin is still required, and so if more users are just using Origin directly (since there is no incentive to buy a physical copy any more) then maybe retailers are just trying to push this stock--I could be totally wrong, but they've already paid for the stock, so EA already got its profit, so now it's their turn.

  Go with the physical copy. Save money and play the same game.

  It's not totally junk. It does download most of the stuff from the DVD to your computer (really useful for players with limited internet, etc). The rest that is required using the Internet is probably to download patches and possibly some stuff to confirm the installation of your game.
