Changes 2023[]

The points system was changed from only awarding the best 10 drivers to awarding the best 12 drivers.

The engines were changed back to V8 Hybrids, chassises are made lightweight and there are blown diffusers. Halo and ERS hybrid systems are introduced by the FIA as well.

Race tracks[]

All 3 sprint races and the Hungarian Grand Prix were removed from the calendar for 2023. The German Grand Prix would be held for the first time since 2020.

Engine suppliers[]

Red Bull Racing switched to Porsche engines for 2023.

The new Aston Martin Racing team used Mercedes engines for 2023.

Drivers[]

Sebastian Vettel left Mercedes to join Audi replacing Max Verstappen and partnering alongside Carlos Sainz.

Alexander Albon debuted in Formula One by joining Jaguar, replacing Niko Kari who has left Formula One completely.

Mick Schumacher left Alfa Romeo to join Ferrari replacing Aarav Aarava and partnering alongside Charles Leclerc.

Aarav Aarava left Ferrari to join McLaren replacing Lando Norris and partnering alongside Daniel Ricciardo.

Lando Norris left McLaren to join Porsche.

Pascal Wehrlein left Haas to join Porsche.

Max Verstappen left Audi to join Mercedes and partnering alongside George Russell.

George Russell re-joined Formula One with Mercedes and partnering alongside Max Verstappen.

Callum Ilott left Alfa Romeo to join Aston Martin and partnering alongside Jamie Chadwick.

Jamie Chadwick debuted in Formula One by joining Aston Martin and partnering Callum Ilott.

Jack Aitken left Renault to join BMW Williams, replacing Valtteri Bottas and partnering alongside Sergio Perez.

Christian Lundgaard debuted in Formula One by joining Renault to replace Jack Aitken, and partnering alongside Esteban Ocon.

Nico Hülkenberg left Formula One at the end of 2022 as a result of Haas being declared bankrupt.

Antonio Fuoco left Formula One at the end of 2022 as a result of Alfa Romeo being taken over by Aston Martin Racing.

Mid-season changes[]

Max Verstappen switch after round 3 to Scuderia Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc moving to Monster Mercedes.

Teams[]

The Haas F1 Team was been declared bankrupt at the end of the 2022 season, meaning there was a free grid slot. This slot was taken by Porsche.

The Scuderia Alfa Romeo team left Formula One for unknown reasons, meaning there was a free grid slot. This slot was taken by Aston Martin Racing.

What team is joining F1 in 2023?
