Change playlist order Spotify Android
I noticed a couple weeks ago that an update wrecked the way playlists are ordered and displayed in the mobile app. Instead of displaying in the order they appear in the PC app (order of creation date), they now show up kind of in order of last played, but then scrolling down I see some playlist folders and then the remaining playlists are in alphabetical order. Why? Is there a way to go back to the standard ordering that I see on my PC? Show The spotify forums interface is so busted that I literally couldn't figure out how to make a post asking this question there. Luckily, I found this subreddit which is full of complaining about Spotify! But, hopefully you guys can help me. In the new Spotify update, it seems they've removed the custom order feature that's present on the desktop version. Does anyone know if this is a bug or they plan to add this back? Doesn't make sense why'd they remove it.
Did you know that it is possible to play the most recently added songs first even in the mobile versions of Spotify? This is how you do it to avoid listening to the same old music over and over again.
As a rule, the reason why you add new songs to a playlist is because you want to listen to them again soon. Therefore, it is quite annoying that the playlists in Spotify by default, sorted so that the last added song is placed at the bottom. Something that is not good at all the times you want to start listening to the newest material in your playlist, instead of the oldest (which is then at the top). Thankfully, there is actually the opportunity to also at iPhone and Android, just like in the desktop variant of Spotify, sort a playlist in slightly different ways. Among other things, so the newest songs end up at the top. Finding the setting, however, is unnecessarily cumbersome. K. Holt|07.10.18 SOPA Images via Getty ImagesSpotify users on Android are finally getting a basic function for a music app: the option to reorder songs within playlists. Spotify confirmed to Engadget that the feature is a new addition to the app, though iOS users have been able to do this for a long time. It seems Spotify is rolling out the change on its servers, so you won't necessarily need to update your app for it to work. When you tap the three-dot menu button in your killer list of jams, you'll see an Edit Playlist option. You can move around your songs as you see fit and save when you're done. It's certainly good news if you ever accidentally added a song in the wrong place, putting an end to an annoying quirk in the app. All products recommended by Engadget are selected by our editorial team, independent of our parent company. One of the most common user complaints about Spotify for Android has been the inability to edit the song order in playlists. Late last month, the music streaming company announced that this feature would soon get added to the mobile app, and not even a month later, it has. When the new edit song order feature was announced, Spotify stated that it would begin its rollout to only a small number of users. It appears to be doing this via a server-side update, so no specific app build will enable the functionality. But as you can see from the screenshots below, the process to edit the song order is pretty straightforward. After jumping into a playlist that you created, tap on the three-dot overflow menu button and then select Edit Playlist. On this new screen, you can move and reorganize the song list and then hit Save when you’re done. We have no idea how long Spotify has been rolling out this update, so it might still only be available for a limited number of users or it might be available for all. Make sure to let us know in the comment section below if you have the new functionality.
