First, open the Realtek HD Audio Manager by pressing the Cortana taskbar button and entering ‘audio manager’ in the search box. Click Realtek HD Audio Manager to open its window as below. First, click the i button at the bottom right of the window. That will open the window in the snapshot below. Select the Display icon notification area option, and press the OK button. Next, click the yellow folder icon that’s almost at the top right corner of the audio manager’s window. Select the Disable front panel jack detection option on the Connector Settings window. If it’s selected, deselect the Enable auto popup dialog option; and press the OK button. Click the Device Advanced Settings window link at the top right of the audio manager to open playback and audio device settings. Select the Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously playback option. Select the Tie up same type of input jacks, i.e., line-in or microphone, as an input device recording device option. Press the OK button on the Device advanced settings window. Click the green active back panel speaker icon on the right of the Speakers tab. Select Set Default Device from the drop-down menu on the right of the Speakers tab. Next, click the Microphone tab; and select the red back panel activate microphone icon. Click Set Default Device on the Microphone tab’s drop-down menu. Finally, press OK to apply the new settings.

Try restoring the BIOS to defaults and check if it helps.

(NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.) Right-click and select Update Driver Software. Select Browse my computer for driver software. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6. In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next. At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close. In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllers section, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead of IDT or Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.
