Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2014 I decided a while back to give a few SK-II products a try. I try to spend my money on good skincare as a means of preventative care and so I won't have to spend as much time and money on makeup. I'm in my mid 20s and have had skin troubles since my teens -- acne, dry skin, oily skin, etc. My skin just likes to screw with me. So anyway, recently I moved and the change in my surroundings coupled with the stress of a new job has been putting my skin through a lot. I purchased this and the Facial Treatment Essence and added it to my routine. I wash my face, use the Facial Treatment Essence then use Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum and finish it off with the Essential Power Moisturizing Cream. For the first few weeks, I definitely saw that my skin got softer and I was waking up to a more glowy complexion. I'm sure part of this was due to the cream, but it's probably also because you tend to be a lot more meticulous with your skin when you're throwing down a couple hundred bucks on the products. My thing is, as it is when it comes to any expensive skincare product, asking myself whether the results are worth the price. I didn't see a miraculous difference. If you want something super moisturizing, there are better products out there that do the job for much cheaper (check out CeraVe cream). Granted, this 2.71 oz container will probably last months. Mine is still rather full at the 2-3 month mark. So if this lasts a year or even 6 months and it keeps your skin nice and glowy, it might be worth it for you. For me, while it is nice, it's not such a drastic difference that I have to have it. I think the best thing to do is to get a sample of this product before committing to the full jar, especially if this is a splurge for you. "SK-II - SKINPOWER Cream" is a well-rounded moisturizing product. As we expect from a proper moisturizer, the formula includes a combo of effective humectants and emollients. These are the two different types of ingredients that are essential for improving the skin hydration and supporting a healthy
skin barrier. Panthenol, galactomyces ferment filtrate, glycerin and butylene glycol in this product (humectants) attract water molecules to the upper layer of the skin (the water comes from the outside air or from the deeper layers of the skin if the air is dry). Butyrospermum parkii butter, caprylic/capric triglyceride, dimethicone, dimethiconol and methicone in this product help decrease the water evoporation from the skin, so that it stays hydrated for longer. These ingredients also soften
the skin and take away the feeling of tightness and dryness. There are some common irritants in this product, including ingredients that do not have benefits for the skin. We assess the overall irritancy of this moisturizer to be medium. For a detailed
