Given the fact that his picture is deceptive for the way grown-ups perceptual systems work, the little prince should not blame them for their fallacious perception. As the picture is ambiguous, not providing sufficient information for a grown-up to perceive, their cognitions interfere in their perception. This phenomenon is called top-down processing.
